What Am I Going to Do for Myself Today?
GLOW Body Blog: What Am I Going to Do for Myself Today?
The Power of Prioritizing Yourself
In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to get caught up in responsibilities—work, family, commitments—but how often do we pause and ask, "What am I going to do for myself today?" This one simple question can shift your mindset from running on autopilot to making conscious choices that support your well-being.
Why This Question Matters
Too often, women put themselves last. But when we prioritize ourselves—our health, our energy, and our mental clarity—everyone benefits. Whether it’s nourishing your body, moving with intention, or setting boundaries, making time for you isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.
For me, this question has become essential. Every day, I cater to my clients’ needs—guiding, coaching, and motivating them to become stronger and more confident. But in order to show up fully for them, I have to ground myself first. Asking myself, "What am I going to do for myself today?" has made me a better coach, a more effective motivator, and a stronger wife and mother. When I take care of myself, I show up more present, energized, and capable in every role I play.
Small Actions, Big Impact
Taking care of yourself doesn’t mean you need hours of free time. It’s about small, intentional choices that align with how you want to feel. Ask yourself: ✔ What will make me feel strong today? (Strength training, Pilates, a walk outside) ✔ How will I fuel my body? (A high-protein breakfast, hydration, mindful eating) ✔ Where do I need to set boundaries? (Saying no, carving out quiet time, stepping away from negativity) ✔ What will help me reset? (Breathwork, stretching, reading, a moment of stillness)
The Ripple Effect of Self-Care
When you start your day by asking, "What am I going to do for myself today?" you set the tone for intentional living. You’re not waiting for the right moment or hoping someone else gives you permission—you’re taking ownership of your well-being.
Your Invitation to Move with Purpose
At GLOW Body Pilates in Ridgewood, I encourage women to show up for themselves—whether through movement, nourishment, or mindful practices. Each day is an opportunity to make a choice that supports your strength, balance, and resilience.
