I'm Gina Santangelo

 

Proud owner of GLOW Body Pilates Studio in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and founder of Flow Pilates Centre in Tenafly, New Jersey. My lifelong journey in the realm of fitness has been driven by an unwavering passion for health, wellness, and exercise. With over three decades of experience, I've cultivated a wealth of specialized expertise across diverse disciplines, positioning me as a dedicated wellness visionary.

 

My Journey and Passion

My love affair with movement blossomed during my upbringing in the dynamic city of NYC. As a young girl, I immersed myself in dance, mastering ballet, tap, and jazz. Family yoga sessions during the iconic Woodstock era further nurtured my flexible body and strong core. My very first encounter with fitness was at the age of 12, when I stumbled upon my mom's Jane Fonda Workout Vinyl in 1976, I was captivated. That experience led me to purchase the workout book, igniting a lifelong fascination with all things fitness. Remarkably, I still possess that cherished book to this day! My quest for knowledge led me to embrace both traditional Callanetics Exercise and The Callanetics Exercise revolutionary 3-D spiraling Technique, which I fell in love with back in 1987. The dynamic nature of Callanetics Exercise empowers me to tailor my approach to the unique needs of my clients, guiding them towards their fitness aspirations. 

 

Diving into Pilates Mastery

My repertoire also includes being a devoted Pilates instructor, proficient in all apparatus; Pilates Reformer, Pilates Stability Chair, Pilates Cadillac, Pilates Ladder Barrel, and Pilates Mat Work. Notably, FLOW Pilates served as a pivotal teacher training hub for Stott Pilates in Toronto, Canada. My expertise in Pilates is comprehensive, enabling me to design tailor-made programs focusing on strength, flexibility, and balance. My specialization lies in injury rehabilitation and working with special populations, rendering my Pilates approach inclusive and supportive for all.

 

A Holistic Path

Delving further, I certified in Yamuna Body Rolling, Yamuna Foot Focus, and Yamuna Face Ball, studying under the esteemed founder, Yamuna Zake. These specialized techniques enrich my holistic wellness approach, fostering deep healing, structural alignment, bone and muscular nourishment and rejuvenation for my clients.


Facing Life's Challenges

My life's trajectory took a transformative turn when I faced the heart-wrenching loss of my beautiful 18-month old daughter to SUDC. This poignant tragedy propelled me to explore the healing power of clean eating a step further  along with mindfulness, and holistic wellness, which I now fervently share with others.

 

Amidst Adversity, Finding Light

This experience, though the most painful in my life, has led me to discover profound meaning and purpose. While my heart forever bears a tear, it's through this very tear that my daughter's light finds its way in. As I extend my hand to uplift others, her light continues to shine through me.

 

Guiding Others Towards Wellness

Moving forward to today, as a Master Fitness Instructor, Mindset Coach, and Detoxification Specialist, I offer personalized guidance in fitness and healthy eating through my proprietary private and semi-private sessions at GLOW Body Pilates Studio. These sessions  aren't just about building strength, toning, and lifting—it's also about emphasizing proper alignment, gait, and foot balance.

For those unable to engage in private sessions, the GLOW Body Online Membership provides structured exercise guidance. Especially appealing to those who cherished my classes during my ownership of FLOW Pilates, this membership extends my expertise and guidance globally.
