The Way
Summer Produce
The season at its ripest, keep it simple.
Summer food barely needs a recipe. Ripe produce, olive oil, herbs, a little salt, that’s the whole art.
Summer wants ease. Long light evenings, breezy walks, bare feet on the grass. Let the season be free and unhurried, move in the cool hours, and let the days feel spacious.
At its best
- Tomatoes
- Zucchini & summer squash
- Corn
- Cucumbers
- Peaches & stone fruit
- Berries
- Basil & fresh herbs
Simple meals
- A big tomato & cucumber salad
- Grilled vegetables
- Grilled chicken or shrimp
- A grain bowl with herbs
- Fruit for dessert
Stay well
- Water, then more water
- Eat before you’re starving
- Move in the cool hours
- Rest in the heat
- Enjoy the long evenings
Gina’s take. Let the season do the cooking. The riper the produce, the less it needs from you, olive oil, lemon, and a little salt is often enough.
