Most of what we’re sold as “change” is really rearranging the same room. You try harder, do a little more or a little less, and end up with a slightly better version of the life you already had. The furniture moves. The room stays.
A leap is something else. A leap is moving houses. You don’t become a tidier version of who you were, you become someone the old walls no longer fit.
And you’re standing at the door for one of two reasons. Either life closed one, a season ended, the change came to you. Or you want more, and you’re reaching for it, you’re choosing it. Both are leaps.
Here’s the part worth holding onto: what you want is real, and it’s possible. You’re not blocked by the universe. If anything holds you back, it’s your own capacity to hold a bigger life, and that can be built.
It feels enormous because you’re walking toward a self who doesn’t exist yet.
A moment you might know
You’re standing in a kitchen you’ve stood in a thousand times, and something in you goes quiet and says: I can’t keep doing this. Nothing is wrong, exactly. It just doesn’t fit anymore. That’s not a bad day. That’s a room getting too small.
☼ Try this
Name which door you’re standing at: did this change come to you, or are you reaching toward it? You don’t have to do anything about it yet. Just knowing which one it is changes how you hold it.
What Took Me Years to Understand
It always starts much earlier than we think.
Long before I make a decision, something inside me has already begun to shift. A thought keeps returning. A feeling won’t leave me alone. I find myself imagining a different way of living.
I’ve learned not to dismiss those quiet beginnings. More often than not, they’re the first signs that I’ve already started becoming someone new.
